May Travels

Way back in May our family did some travels and we spent about a week on beautiful Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada (I can't believe it has taken almost a month to post about this but hey that's life) I'll warn you though, this post is going to be pretty photo heavy :)

So, in order to get to Vancouver Island you need to either fly or take a ferry and in this case we took one of the ferry's. On our trip over we had gorgeous weather, but unfortunately didn't see much marine life (we saw one sea lion, very far in the distance)

We were visiting the area of Parksville and Qualicum and we had such a great time! We took the kids for their first time mini-golfing and we all had a blast (so much so that the kids kept asking if we could go back every day!)

This truck was a part of the "decor" at the mini golf place, and the kids were dying to have their picture taken sitting in it,

and sitting in the huge fish!

My sweet cousin and her hubby and three kids live not far away so her and I and all the kids all had a great time hanging out and getting to know each other (our hubbies were both busy that week, hers was working and mine was there to do a conference)

So cute!

We had such a great time together! Reminded me of so many special times hanging out with my cousins when we were small. I just wish we all lived closer so we could hang out more often!

The kids and I went to The Old Country Market and saw the famous Goats on the Roof :)

The kids and I also spent a lot of time at the different beaches. This was Gabe's first time experiencing the ocean and the last time the girls had experienced it they were very small, so we had a great time exploring.

Caught tons of tiny crabs at low tide...

I love this picture of our two girls :)

Even attempted some sand castles

This tree stump was at Rathtrevor beach, it was so cool. At one point there were probably seven or eight kids climbing all over it and having a blast. Who needs a playground when you can play on a huge tree stump?!!

Well I think that concludes part one of our trip, part two will be about the farm tours we went on :)
Have a great Canada day!
